Ballater War Memorial Wins Best in Scotland

That the Parliament congratulates the community of Ballater on being awarded the title of Best Kept War Memorial in Scotland for the second year running; commends the efforts of the retired Lt Col Hugh Inkster and the former Gordon Highlander, John Forsyth, for their dedication to ensuring that the memorial and surrounding gardens remain pristine, with Hugh, who is 92, tending to the memorial every day for a decade; recognises that the competition is run by the Royal British Legion Scotland, and the monument scored a perfect 100% in its category; thanks the men for their efforts to keep the garden and memorial in great condition, and also for their dedication for many years to the armed forces.
