History will never be the same again! Come and meet our fascinating and entertaining First World War re-enactors Ailsa and Dave Clarke who assume the roles of a Scottish Women’s Hospital nurse and soldier using real-life artefacts from 1914.
Trench warfare and medical triage come to life as our re-enactors talk about the development of technology and medicine through the war and you are asked to take on the role of the triage nurse who has to make the critical life and death decisions on who to treat first, and how.
From First World War bullets and shell-heads to syringes and an original first aid kit, our re-enactors will bring a deeper understanding of the war alive.
Experience the chemical, body and battlefield smells of war and the medical tent as Ailsa and Dave talk you through conditions faced by the medical teams and soldiers of the time.
Hear the personal stories and experiences of a Scottish Women’s Hospital nurse and member of the Royal Army Medical Corps as you are transported back in time to the battlefields of Serbia.
