Remit
The Health and Sport Committee’s role is to examine the Scottish Government’s Draft Budget and report its findings to the Parliament’s Finance Committee.
The Committee has issued two calls for written views one on the health budget and the other on the sport budget.

The Committee sent a letter to Finance Committee on its scrutiny of the Scottish Government Draft Budget 2016-17.
On 3 February 2016, the Committee received a response from the Scottish Government.

On 5 January the Committee took evidence from the Cabinet Secretary for Health, Wellbeing and Sport, the Chief Executive NHSScotland and Director General Health and Social Care, the Chief Medical Officer and the Director of Health Finance, eHealth and Analytics at the Scottish Government.
The Cabinet Secretary provided further evidence on 25 January.
