About the Greek Presidency
Greece assumed the Presidency of the Council of the European Union on 1 January 2014 and will hold the position for six months until the end of June.
The six month Greek Presidency will be the final Presidency under the current European Parliament with elections set to take place in May 2014.
The Committee will take evidence, on the role of the Presidency and its key objectives, from HE Mr Konstantinos Bikas, Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic to the United Kingdom, at its meeting on Thursday 6 March 2014. The Greek Presidency Programme sets out the main principles which will guide the work of the Hellenic Presidency.
