Remit
The Committee agreed in its work programme in early 2014 to take evidence on the implementation of the newly reformed CAP in Scotland, both the direct payments of pillar 1 and the rural development SRDP funds of pillar 2 (both of which are subject to consultation by the Scottish Government).
Two roundtable sessions with stakeholders took place on February 26 and March 5, 2014. The Committee also heard from the UK Secretary of State, Owen Paterson MP on 12 March 2014, and the Cabinet Secretary, Richard Lochhead, gave evidence on 26 March 2014.
The Committee previously considered CAP in 2012 and you can find details of its previous work on the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) - 2012 page.
