European Union Anti-Trafficking Co-ordinator
At its meeting on 12 September 2013 the Committee heard evidence from Myria Vassiliadou, the EU Anti-Trafficking Coordinator, appointed in March 2011 by the European Commission.
The Committee discussed the role of the Coordinator (to implement and monitor the EU Strategy towards the Eradication of Trafficking in Human Beings (2012-2016)) and heard information on the new policies and strategic work currently being undertaken to combat human trafficking in the EU.
