Local policing
Evidence sessions
During the course of session 4, the Sub-Committee held four evidence sessions in relation to local policing.
Call for views
In advance of the evidence session on 20 March 2014, the Sub-Committee sought views on how local policing arrangements set out under the Police and Fire Reform (Scotland) Act 2012 were working in practice.
Fact-finding visits
The Sub-Committee visited Dumfries, Elgin and Glenrothes in January 2014 to meet with the divisional command team, community and response officers, police staff, local councillors, community councils and staff from various partnerships who work with the police.
Follow-up visits to Dumfries, Elgin and Glenrothes took place in June and September 2015 to enable members to see how matters had progressed since their first visits and to establish whether the same issues of concern remained.
