About The Committee

The key role of the Committee is to scrutinise the Scottish Government’s policies and expenditure in relation to the following matters:

  • Housing;
  • Transport;
  • Capital investment;
  • Digital infrastructure and broadband;
  • Fuel poverty and energy assistance;
  • Scottish Water; and
  • Public procurement. 

The Committee also conducts its own inquiries into any matters within its remit.

Current Business

Private Housing (Tenancies) (Scotland) Bill

The Committee agreed its approach to the scrutiny of the Bill at Stage 1 at its meeting on 7 October 2015. 

The Committee expects to consider written submissions and to take oral evidence between October 2015 and December 2015, before reporting on the Bill’s general principles in early to mid January 2016.
