Motions and amendments are normally printed the day after they are lodged. If an amendment is lodged to a motion then the original motion will appear alongside the amendment, along with any support lodged that day, in this section.
Each Monday, this section also contains all motions and amendments lodged the previous week that are still live and any motions and amendments that have been lodged for debate in the coming week. A motion or amendment is live if it has not been debated, withdrawn or otherwise deleted from the list.
Where a motion or amendment has been withdrawn, it is indicated in this section the day after it has been withdrawn. Support for motions and amendments received after they are lodged is shown at the end of this section the day after such support is received.
Motions and amendments can be published with various symbols
- Asterisks before the motion or amendment number indicate a motion or amendment published for the first time
- Asterisks also identify alterations to the text of a motion or amendment made since it was first published
- A hash symbol identifies motions eligible for debate at Members’ Business

S4M-04400 Maureen Watt: Mr Abdul Aziz, Brave@Heart—That the Parliament congratulates Mr Abdul Aziz, whose outstanding bravery has been commended through his receipt of a Brave@Heart award at a ceremony held at Edinburgh Castle; understands that Mr Aziz, who was working at his restaurant in Newtonhill at the time of the incident on 24 January 2012, received the award after dragging a motorist from a car that had crashed into a lamp post on the A90 and burst into flames; understands that, through Mr Aziz’s intervention, the driver, who experienced burns and trauma as a result of the incident, has now made a full recovery; notes that the Brave@Heart awards are presented in celebration of those who have shown exceptional bravery in challenging circumstances, and believes that Mr Aziz’s actions, along with the other 23 recipients of the Brave@Heart award, deserve to be recognised and celebrated.

S4M-04399 Mary Fee: Renfrewshire Council Refunds Unfair Charges to Adults with Learning Difficulties—That the Parliament welcomes the decision by the Labour administration in Renfrewshire Council to refund unfair transport costs to adults with learning difficulties; understands that the previous SNP/Liberal Democrat administration introduced charges for adults with learning difficulties to travel to day centres at £2.50 per day costing families, who it considers bear the brunt of Scottish Government cuts and the recession, up to £12.50 per week; congratulates the Labour administration on backdating the refunds for all charges to April 2011, and further congratulates all of the campaigners who fought against what it believes these unfair charges and which it considers contributed to the downfall of the SNP-led administration at Renfrewshire Council.

S4M-04398 Patricia Ferguson: John Paul Academy, Another Year of Success—That the Parliament notes the 2012 awards ceremony held at John Paul Academy in Maryhill; celebrates the success of all the students who received awards in a range of academic subjects and in a wide variety of other areas; considers that the students are a credit to their families and to the teaching staff and school community, and wishes them well in their future careers.

S4M-04397 Jackson Carlaw: In Defence of Playspace at Waterfoot Park—That the Parliament notes with great sadness the decision of the Labour/SNP-controlled East Renfrewshire Council to approve the sale of Waterfoot Park in spite of what it considers were extensive and well-argued objections by members of the community regarding the loss of a valued green space; believes that this decision contravenes specific election manifesto commitments from both parties regarding the protection of greenbelt land; urges the Scottish Ministers to intervene and call this decision in for review, and believes that they should ensure that local parks and green spaces are retained for the community use, are not sold off to the keenest bidder for housing or other development, and are protected for the enjoyment of future generations as they seek to pursue a healthy and active life.
