Motions and amendments are normally printed the day after they are lodged. If an amendment is lodged to a motion then the original motion will appear alongside the amendment, along with any support lodged that day, in this section.
Each Monday, this section also contains all motions and amendments lodged the previous week that are still live and any motions and amendments that have been lodged for debate in the coming week. A motion or amendment is live if it has not been debated, withdrawn or otherwise deleted from the list.
Where a motion or amendment has been withdrawn, it is indicated in this section the day after it has been withdrawn. Support for motions and amendments received after they are lodged is shown at the end of this section the day after such support is received.
Motions and amendments can be published with various symbols
- Asterisks before the motion or amendment number indicate a motion or amendment published for the first time
- Asterisks also identify alterations to the text of a motion or amendment made since it was first published
- A hash symbol identifies motions eligible for debate at Members’ Business
- A diamond symbol identifies motions lodged for Members’ Business that have not yet attracted the required cross-party support
- An "R", identifies motions or amendments in which the Member who lodged it has a registrable interest.
The Parliamentary Bureau periodically deletes motions or amendments not scheduled for debate and which are over six weeks old.
Any questions in relation to this section should be directed to the Chamber Desk
New and altered motions and amendments
*S4M-00461 John Wilson: Glenboig Neighbourhood House wins Jubilee Millions—That the Parliament congratulates Glenboig Neighbourhood House in winning a £60,000 Big Lottery Fund grant in a special competition to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee; notes that this funding will be used to introduce families to the benefits and pleasure of back to basic play, exploration and discovery in the natural environment of local woodlands through weekly guided sessions; recognises that the BIG Jubilee People’s Millions is providing 60 awards of up to £60,000 to new projects that will take place in 2012 with a view to improving local places or the lives of people in the community; applauds the tireless efforts of all those involved in securing this Big Lottery Fund grant and wishes Glenboig Neighbourhood House every success in the future.
*S4M-00460 George Adam: YMCA Re-established in Paisley—That the Parliament recognises the re-establishing of the YMCA in Paisley town centre, an organisation which has already served the town for over a century; appreciates the work carried out by the charity over this time and welcomes the new look office and out-reach projects that will ensure this good work will now continue.
*S4M-00459 Sandra White: Scotland for Syria—That the Parliament condemns the brutal use of force by the Assad regime against peaceful demonstrators, many of whom are elderly or very young children; particularly condemns the use of battlefield weaponry against civilian populations and what it considers to be a deliberate policy of the Assad led government which has so far led to the deaths of over 1,300 civilians and the severe injury of many more; believes that President Assad can no longer play a positive role in any discussions on the future of Syria and calls for the President to recognise this, put the wishes and hopes of the people of Syria first, and step down without further delay.

*S4M-00458 Willie Coffey: Co-operatives Fortnight – Yours to Share—That the Parliament notes that Co-operatives Fortnight runs from 25 June to 9 July 2011 under the theme of ‘Yours to Share’; acknowledges the contribution that co-operatives can make in tackling wealth and income inequality and securing long-term economic stability; recognises that other parts of Europe with more highly developed co-operative sectors, notably the Basque country, home to the Mondragon group, and Emilia–Romagna in northern Italy which, with a population of less than 5 million, supports over 8,000 co-operative enterprises, generously share their time and expertise to encourage the development of co-operatives worldwide; and considers that Scottish co-operatives, and the Scottish Government, might benefit from a study of co-operative development in such areas, including the potential, as happens in Emilia–Romagna, for existing co-operatives to allocate a share of their profits to a co-operative fund for future generations to support the development of existing and new co-operatives.
*S4M-00457 Alex Fergusson: Scottish Agricultural College Wins £2.5 Million Contract—That the Parliament congratulates the Scottish Agricultural College (SAC) on its successful bid for a £2.5 million research programme to investigate soil and grassland improvement and the use of alternative forage crops for cows commissioned by the industry group DairyCo; recognises that over £1 million of this research funding will be retained at the Crichton research site in Dumfries and Galloway, creating a number of new jobs and bringing stability to the work carried out by the SAC at the site; and believes that the winning of this contract underlines Scotland’s excellent reputation for animal and crop husbandry research.
