Remit
At an awareness-raising afternoon with Gypsy/Travellers, we heard that Gypsy/Travellers with caring responsibilities face many difficulties. We’re now holding evidence sessions on Gypsy/Travellers and care and have sponsored an event in the Parliament, hosted by MECOPP, about working with Gypsy/Traveller carers.
A report has now been published by the Committee:
3rd Report, 2012 (Session 4): Gypsy/Travellers and Care
We launched a separate inquiry into where Gypsy/Travellers live and carried out visits to Gyspy/Traveller sites in late 2012. We took oral evidence between December 2012 and February 2013 and held an external meeting at Clinterty Travelling Person's site in February 2013.
Timetable
March to June 2012
Evidence
From March to June we heard from third-sector organisations, Gypsy/Travellers with experience of care, health and social care workers and the Minister for Public Health.
