Welcoming Amnesty International's 'It breaks the human' Report

That the Parliament welcomes the report by Amnesty International, 'It breaks the human', Torture, disease and death in Syria’s prisons; condemns the systemic torture, mental, physical and sexual abuse in Syrian government prisons; calls for further investigation into the estimated 17,723 deaths in custody in Syria over the last five years; believes that human rights are universal and that action must be taken to ensure that they are protected; calls for the international community and, in particular the USA and Russia, who are co-chairing Syria peace talks at the end of August 2016 to prioritise dealing with the ongoing scandal of these abuses, and further calls on the Syrian authorities and armed groups to end the use of torture and other ill-treatment in prisons.
