Question
To ask the Scottish Government whether it will consider a fast track planning process for aquaculture developments such as is available in Norway.
Answer
The Scottish Government, in conjunction with The Crown Estate, commissioned an independent review of the consenting process for aquaculture in Scotland and the report’s recommendations are currently under consideration. Scottish Ministers have no plans to introduce the Norwegian system at this time.
