Wishes for Scotland's Children, Children 1st

  • Submitted by: Sarah Boyack, Lothian, Scottish Labour.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 18 November 2014
  • Motion reference: S4M-11592

That the Parliament welcomes the publication of Wishes for Scotland’s Children by Children 1st  to mark World Day for the Prevention of Abuse and Violence against Children on 19 November 2014; notes that the report contains over 600 wishes from vulnerable children, young people and families from all over Scotland; understands that these wishes show how many children are still missing out on their childhoods and are growing up in fear of abuse and violence, yet they also show how aspirational Scotland’s children are for themselves and for children around the world; commends Children 1st in its 130th anniversary year for continuing to be a strong public voice for Scotland’s vulnerable children, and encourages everyone to do more to ensure that all of Scotland’s children enjoy happy, healthy, safe and secure childhoods.
