Ban Circuses from Using Wild Animals

  • Submitted by: Kevin Stewart, Aberdeen Central, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 29 October 2014
  • Motion reference: S4M-11344

That the Parliament notes with concern that a number of circus-owned lions and tigers are to be kept at a north east farm over the winter months; believes that the use of wild animals in circus performances is wrong and commends the local authorities that have imposed bans on circuses that use wild animals from using their land, and calls on the Scottish Government to introduce legislation to ban the use of wild animals in circuses.
