Nurses before Nukes, Teachers before Trident, Bairns before Bombs

  • Submitted by: Kevin Stewart, Aberdeen Central, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Monday, 22 September 2014
  • Motion reference: S4M-10973

That the Parliament offers its wholehearted support to the church leaders who have called on the UK Government to scrap its commitment to procure a replacement for the Trident nuclear weapons system; believes that weapons of mass destruction should have no place in the modern world and that the money spent on these armaments of Armageddon would be much better spent on public services such as health and education, and firmly believes that the country should put nurses before nukes, teachers before Trident and bairns before bombs.
