That the Parliament congratulates the Caravan Project on winning the Celebrating Communities award at the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations’ 2014 Scottish Charity Awards; understands that the charity provides up to 60 holidays a year for families living in poverty in the north west of Glasgow, including the Maryhill and Canal wards of the Maryhill and Springburn parliamentary constituency; recognises the importance of the work undertaken by the Caravan Project and the positive effect that a break from home can have on the family members involved by allowing them time to relax, improving mental wellbeing and ultimately strengthening their relationships with each other; understands that the Caravan Project continues to support families after their holiday by assisting them in accessing services and providing them with useful information on budgeting, healthy eating and living, counselling and education, and commends all the staff and volunteers of the Caravan Project for their hard work and commitment.
