20 Years of Planning Aid Scotland

  • Submitted by: Sarah Boyack, Lothian, Scottish Labour.
  • Date lodged: Monday, 21 October 2013
  • Motion reference: S4M-08050

That the Parliament congratulates Planning Aid Scotland on celebrating its 20th anniversary; notes the achievements of the organisation’s staff and volunteers in helping people and communities engage with the planning system and become more involved in the shaping of local developments; believes that, through this process, the organisation helps to promote community spirit by encouraging greater social interaction; considers that, 20 years on, the work of the organisation is as important as ever as many people continue to regard the planning system as challenging and complex, and wishes it continuing success in supporting communities and allowing them to have their say on proposed developments.
