EU to End Mobile Roaming Charges

  • Submitted by: Nigel Don, Angus North and Mearns, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Friday, 14 June 2013
  • Motion reference: S4M-07021

That the Parliament commends the European Commission on its move to end roaming charges for mobile phones; understands that it voted to fast-track major reforms to the telecoms regulations that will allow people to use their phones at the same tariff regardless of where they are in the EU; believes that roaming charges will be abolished by July 2014, and considers that this will help business travellers and tourists.
