Revoke Donald Trump’s Membership of the GlobalScot Network

  • Submitted by: Patrick Harvie, Glasgow, Scottish Green Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 28 February 2012
  • Motion reference: S4M-02144

That the Parliament notes what it sees as the threat from Donald Trump not only to fund a private campaign against renewable energy in Scotland, but also to use the courts to delay what it believes to be the vital European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre; considers that the Scottish Government was deeply misguided in its previous dealings with Mr Trump and that he appears to have been given the impression that the Scottish planning system is a commodity for sale; considers that Mr Trump's stated intentions are entirely at odds with the interests of Scotland, and calls on the Scottish Government to revoke Mr Trump's membership of the GlobalScot network with immediate effect.
