The Patient Rights (Scotland) Bill seeks to create new statutory rights for those using the NHS, and to establish a set of principles which should underpin the delivery of health care. This briefing sets out the background to each of the key provisions in the Bill and examines the provisions in the context of responses to the Health and Sport Committee’s call for evidence. The briefing also examines recent experiences from England and Norway.
