Tartan Week 2007 and the Scottish Parliament
Presiding Officer George Reid represented the Parliament at the 2007 Tartan Week activities in North America.
On Saturday 14 April he led the 2007 New York City National Tartan Day Parade as Grand Marshal, leading marchers up 6th Avenue.
The three-hour parade was the culmination of a fortnight of meetings and activities undertaken by the Presiding Officer on behalf of the Scottish Parliament.
Other events included opening the Scotland Run in Central Park, launching the Scottish Village showcasing culture and heritage at Grand Central Station, and visiting the Assemblée Nationale in Québec.
