Sponsorship:

From spring 2008 to 11 February 2009 I received sponsorship from St Margaret’s of Scotland Hospice (of East Barns Street, Clydebank, G81 1EG) to develop, research, draft and publicise my proposed Palliative Care (Scotland) Bill (a Member’s Bill) and its associated documents. The sponsorship was to be provided for the duration of the Bill’s passage through Parliament. As of 11 February 2009 I am no longer the member in charge of this Bill as a result of my appointment as a Scottish Minister. St Margaret’s of Scotland Hospice has a commercial relationship with Metropublic, a public relations company, which has had incidental involvement in the development of the Bill in a liaising capacity. I have not received any financial support although the material support provided to me by St Margaret’s of Scotland Hospice is valued to be up to £2,500; this sponsorship therefore falls within the bandwidth of £2,001-£3,000.
