Oil and Gas

Purpose of the Group

To provide a platform for parliamentarians to discuss all issues relating to the whole structure of the oil and gas industry; to raise specific issues of concern with the Scottish Executive and the industry itself; to promote innovation in offshore engineering; to encourage greater recognition of the importance of the oil and gas industry to the UK and to support the use of offshore technology and skills in the development and production of renewable energy.

Forthcoming Meetings
The Group's next meeting will be held on Wednesday 18 November at 6.00 pm in room TG20-21. The meeting will include a presentation by Jim Niven of Shell on planning for Brent Decommissionning. 27 - 29 August 08 - £2355.13 per person to Offshore Northern Seas (ONS) Conference and Exhibition in Stavanger, Norway.

8 October 08 - £1358.35 (inc VAT) for catering and drinks at annual reception. Paid for by Oil & Gas UK.

9 December 08 - £1515.91 (plus VAT) for hot supper and drinks provided by Total at end of meeting.
