Recess is a period when the Parliament is not sitting but not dissolved. In Scotland parliamentary recesses normally coincide with school and public holidays.
Recess Dates as agreed by the Parliament are as follows:
- 29 June – 1 September 2013
- 12 – 27 October 2013
- 21 December 2013 – 5 January 2014.
