When Parliament is in session committees normally meet on the mornings of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. During these meetings committees take evidence from witnesses, scrutinise legislation and conduct inquiries.
When Parliament is in recess there will not be any committee meetings scheduled.
Recess Dates as agreed by the Parliament are as follows:
- 19 December 2015 – 4 January 2016
- 13 February - 21 February 2016

The current five-year session of Parliament will end at midnight on Wednesday 23 March 2016 and dissolution will begin immediately thereafter on Thursday 24 March 2016, with the election taking place on Thursday 5 May 2016.
Members of the public can attend committee meetings. A free ticket is required for a seat in the public gallery of a committee room. Tickets can be requested using the ticket request form or emailing or calling Visitor Services.
