  • Submitted by: Tim Eagle, Highlands and Islands, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 10 April 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-12769

That the Parliament congratulates Macaulay College, near Stornoway, on securing almost £540,000 in funding from the UK Government’s third round of the Community Ownership Fund; understands that £500,000 of the funding will go towards renovation work to help to increase its capacity, while the remaining funding will employ a project manager; acknowledges that Macaulay College was co-founded in 2010 by Roland Engebretsen and Rebecca Lindsay as a place to support people living with additional support needs, and that it has grown to support around 25 students a week and employ 14 full-time and part-time staff; notes that Macaulay College offers its students a variety of activities including art, wood and metal work, baking, and animal care on its working farm site, and wishes the whole team at Macaulay College, and its students, the very best for their future endeavours.
