An inquiry into what needs to be done to increase the level of sustainable business growth in Scotland in the next 10 years

Committee Report

The Committee published its report entitled Business Growth - the next 10 years (SP Paper 520) on Tuesday 14th March 2006. This is now available to view online. The Committee received a very large quantity of oral and written evidence as part of this inquiry. This evidence is available as Volume 2 (Oral and Written Evidence Part 1), Volume 3 (Oral and Written Evidence Part 2), Volume 4 (Other Written Evidence) and Volume 5 (Fact-Finding Visits and Research Papers).

 

Scottish Executive resposne

On 15 May 2006 the Scottish Executive published is formal response to the conclusions and recommendations in this report. This response is now available to view online.

Parliamentary debate

The Scottish Parliament debated the findings and recommendations of the Committee report on Thursday 18th May 2006.

 

Call for Evidence

On 17 December 2004, the Enterprise and Culture Committee of the Scottish Parliament issued an initial call for evidence from interested parties to its inquiry into business growth in Scotland. Inquiry Remit

The Committee has agreed the following broad remit for this inquiry: ‘An inquiry into what needs to be done to increase the level of sustainable business growth in Scotland in the next 10 years’.

Timetable for the Inquiry

The Committee has agreed a timetable of formal oral evidence sessions and informal fact-finding visits and plans to report interim findings in September 2005, at the Business in the Parliament conference, (8-9 September 2005).

Business in the Parliament 2005 conference

On 8th and 9th September 2005 the Scottish Parliament and the Scottish Executive jointly hosted the 2nd Business in the Parliament conference at Holyrood.
