This International Strategy sets out the aims and focus of the Scottish Parliament’s international engagement. It builds on strategies from previous years and seeks to ensure that the best use of resources from across the organisation is made in maximizing the outcomes from such engagement.
The International Relations Office (IRO) supports the Scottish Parliament in the development and implementation of the Strategy.
The Strategy outlines how resources can be used corporately to support the Scottish Parliament’s Strategic Plan. It aims to maintain the Parliament's reputation as an open, accessible and participative body, willing to learn from and assist other legislatures and others, and support the development of its international relationships. It also ensures that the Parliament's international activity feeds directly back and into its key activities.
