  It examines whether BBC Scotland is sufficiently prepared to deliver high-quality coverage of forthcoming major events in the wake of staffing cuts.

  Royal Charter: 'UK-wide approach needed'

  A UK-wide approach is required to ensure proper regulation of the press according to a letter issued on Wednesday by the Education and Culture Committee.

  Issued to the Cabinet Secretary for Culture and External Affairs, the letter follows evidence sessions on the implications for Scotland of the Royal Charter on Self-Regulation of the Press.
