That the Parliament congratulates Dumbarton teacher, Jennifer Sharkey from Our Lady and St Patrick’s High School, on winning the Eco-Coordinator of the Year 2024 award from a nominee list of more than 30 schools; notes that the award was announced at the Eco-Schools Scotland Awards, where Jennifer was recognised for her efforts in coordinating the school’s Eco-Schools and Learning for Sustainability work, which plays a key role in raising the profile of environmental activity and secured the school its second Eco-Schools Green Flag; welcomes that Jennifer also supports staff and engages with partners such as Education Scotland, local primary schools and early years providers to support the school agenda of Learning for Sustainability; understands that the awards were organised by the environmental charity, Keep Scotland Beautiful, with the annual ceremony receiving entries from 17 local authority areas in Scotland, and wishes the school the very best in boosting its eco-credentials in the future.
